Teach2AI Edition #4: Best Free Tech Tool

For the Classroom

The Best all-around tech tool for the classroom

Did I mention it’s completely free?

Hey teachers! This week I came across a super cool website to create literally anything you can think of for your classroom. Although it’s not strictly AI based, it’s still extremely helpful and collaborative.

Let’s dive in!

Encourage Creativity with Figma

Bring your lessons to life in a fun and engaging way, ideate in real-time, and develop creative thinking skills that prepare students for a role in technology and design—all free, with Figma!

It’s a multi-player, intuitive design tool that is used by professional designers.

Here are some of the things you can create on Figma. Toggle between tabs or screens as I walk you through this quick 1 minute tutorial.

  1. Click here to get free access to a Figma account and press “Get started for free” in the top right hand corner.

  2. Create an account or just be lazy like me, and sign in with google. 🫢

  3. Once you’re all logged in, click “All Templates” on the top right.

  1. Click on the “For the Classroom” tab on the bottom right.

  1. Before you start exploring the templates, I recommend going through the quick 2 minute walk through (even if you are tech savvy!) to learn how to navigate the program and learn some neat shortcuts and hidden features.

Click FigJam 101 Overview for Education

Zoom in using command + or pinching/scrolling and walk through the interactive tutorial.

  2. Start exploring these amazing templates! Here are some of my favourites…

Vocabulary templates - great for novel studies and recording new words as you read!

This adorable book recap exercise and note taking template

This Choice Board activity generator - awesome for displaying on your class screen and even has instructions right in the template!

This interactive drag-and-drop base-ten exercise! No more picking up “ones” off the floor…

This interactive periodic table!

All about me student intro template - a great way to get your students comfortable with Figma.

The opportunities are endless. These are just a few of my favourites. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Your students will be amazed and in awe of how beautiful your lessons become…

If you have any questions or want to learn more, just hit reply and I’d be happy to help!

Stay tuned for more Figma use cases and a tutorial on how to use Figjam, the interactive whiteboard!

Til next time,
