AI Tools to Save Your Sanity This Holiday Season
The countdown is on…
As we approach the holiday season, things in the classroom can get a little, let's say, 'squirrelly.'
Here are some of my favourite AI gamification tools to keep the class engaged while still having fun. All tools are 100% free for teachers.
I’ve tried their Bingo generator in my own class in our flight science unit and it was very user friendly. The kids loved it. I am planning on trying the Quest Based or Escape Room features to create a holiday-themed adventures.

Eduaide is 100% free for educators.
Why not turn review sessions into a game show? Almanack lets you do just that. Create Jeopardy-style quizzes that are both educational and exciting. Watch as even the most distracted students turn into avid participants!
Battleship is one of my tried-and-true consolidation activities at the end of a unit or is a great task for early finishers still related to the subject content. In the past, I’ve had to buy something on TPT that wasn’t quite fitting what I needed but did the job. But now with the power of AI, that problem is solved and I can create a game perfectly suited to content I covered.

*These are all accessible with a free account. You are given 15 credits a month (i.e. generations) to use Pro features on the free plan, which I think is more than enough!
3. Hour of Code
This one's a personal favorite. I've seen firsthand how the Hour of Code captivates students - my previous class was so absorbed in it that they wanted to stay in for recess! It's a fantastic way to introduce coding and AI in an interactive and fun way. It has levelled resources from K all the way to 12th.
The Hour of Code is a global initiative that offers a one-hour introduction to computer programming, aiming to demystify coding and show that anyone can learn the basics. It provides a range of fun, interactive learning activities online, accessible to students of all ages and backgrounds. This campaign, supported by numerous organizations, encourages participants to engage in an hour of coding activities, promoting computer science education worldwide. Sign up here.

Code.org is 100% free and a great STEM resource to have on hand.
This one is awesome - think Kahoot or Blooket style games. I created a how-to video here that kind of blew up-for good reason! I’ve gotten great feedback from other teachers and students.

Create your own quiz, write with AI, or use a pre-made game.
Why These Tools?
These AI and gamification tools are designed to capture students' attention and keep them focused - a must as holiday excitement grows. They're also super user-friendly for both you and your students…. and 100% free always.
Give Them a Try:
If you find these tools helpful or have other game-changing tools to share, let me know! Let's help each other survive the holiday classroom chaos.
As always, I am not making a cent on this newsletter and just want to share tips to help other teachers like myself. That being said, I would really appreciate a follow on Instagram @teach2ai where there will always be more information, value and free resources to try in your classroom.
Wishing you a peaceful and manageable holiday season in your classrooms!
Cheers,
Sophie
